Class 2 onwards Registration(offline): 02 April to 08 April, 2026
Last Date for all Admission (Except class XI): 30 june, 2026
Eligibility Criteria:- As of 31 March 2026(Minimum:06 Years,Maximum:08 Years)
Note:If Child birth is :01 April 2026, that will also be eligibile (rounding off rule)
Balvatika-01:Min. Age:03 Years, Max. Age: 04 Years.
Balvatika-03:Min. Age:05 Years, Max. Age:06 Years.
Class-02:Min. Age:07 Years, Max. Age:09 Years.
Class-10:Min. Age:14 Years, Max. Age:16 Years.
Understanding the Priority Category System:-KVS admissions are not solely based on first come first served. A priority system is used to categorize applicants.
Category I:Children of transferable and non-transferable central government employees and ex-servicemen.
Category II:Children of employees of automous bodies/public sector undertaking (PSUs) of the government of India.
Category III:Children of transferable and non-transferable state government of India.
Category IV:Children of employees of state government autonomous bodies/PSUs.
Category V:Children Children from any other category, including private employees, business, self-employed indivisuals and private sector employees.
Reservation Policy:-KVS adheres to the right to education (RTE) Act and constitutional mandates:
RTE (Right To Education):25%
SC (Sechedule Caste):15%
ST (Schedule Tribe):7.5%
OBC- NCL(Non-Creamy Layer):27% Differently Abled (CwSN): 03% horizontal reservation.
Documents Required for Admission:Keeping your documents ready in digital and physical formats is crucial. For class 1, the following are mandatory:
Birth Certificate:Issued by a Muncipal corporation, village panchayat, or Military Hospital.
Passport Size Photograph:A recent digital photo of the child (JPEG format, max 256 kb).
Proof of Residence:Aadhaar Card, elecricity bill, recent agreement, or ration card.
Category Certificate:Caste certificate(SC/ST/OBC-NCL) if applicable, issued in the name of the child or parent.
Service Certificate:For government employees, showing the number of transfers in the last 07 years.
Single Girl child Affidavit:Required if applying under the SGC quota.
Blood Group Report:To be submitted at the time of final admission.
Step-by-Step Online Registration Process:-The registration for class 1 is strictly online through the official KVS portal:kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in
Step 1: New Registration—Visit the portal and click on "New Registration" read the instruction carefully . You will need a valid mobile number and email ID. After entering the child's name, DOB, and contact details, you will receive an OTP and a unique Login Code.
Step 2: Fill Application Form—By using login Code and DOB the form is devided into five sections:
Basic Information:Child's gender, family income group, caste.
Parent Details:Father's and Mother's occupation details.
Choice of Schools:You can select up to three different Kendriya Vidyalayas. Use this wisely-choose schools near your residence.
Upload Documents:Upload the photo and birth certificate..
Declaration and Submit:Review all details before clicking "Final Submit".
Application Submissin Code:Once submitted, you will recevie an Application Code. Save this it is different from your login code and is required for all future correspondance.

Que.1:Is there any registration Fee?
Ans.:No, Registration for KVS admission is completely Free of cost.
Que.2: Can I apply for class 2 onwards online?
Ans.:No, Admission for class 2 to class 10 is handled offline by individual schools, depending on the vacancy. You must visit the specific KV to collect the form.
Que.3:What if i don't have an aadhaar card for my child yet?
Ans.: While aadhaar is preferred, you can register using the birth certificate. However, you should apply the aadhaar as it will be required during the final admission stages.
Que 4: My child was born on April 2nd. can he apply for class 1?
Ans.:Unfortunately, No. The cutoff is striclty march 31st (with an exception for April 1st). Your child would be eligible for the next academic session.
